Life Story of Glennis Noble Simon Lynch
Glennis Noble Simon Lynch was a woman defined by love, kindness, and quiet strength. Born on August 3, 1958, in the village of Belladrum, West Coast Berbice, Guyana, she was the eldest daughter of Albert Cecil Noble and Frances Betty Noble. From an early age, she demonstrated a natural sense of responsibility, learning how to care for a home and those around her with grace and dedication.
As a young woman, Glennis was deeply involved in her church and community. She participated in Pathfinders and was committed to teaching and reading during Sabbath School. Her faith was central to her life, and she often spoke of “gentle Jesus,” reflecting her belief in kindness, compassion, and a soft, loving spirit.
Driven by a passion for education, she attended Lillian Dewar College of Education in Guyana, where she trained as a teacher and became certified. She carried this calling with pride, dedicating years of her life to shaping young minds and serving her community.
In the 1980s, Glennis migrated to Antigua, a place she came to love and call home. There, she met Michael Simon, who later became her husband. Together they built a family and were blessed with four children: Michael, Beatrice, Andre, and Dwayne. As a mother, she was devoted, nurturing, and ever-present—instilling in her children the importance of kindness, resilience, and helping others, even when resources were limited.
Her professional journey extended beyond teaching, as she later worked with the Electoral Commission in Antigua. In every role, she carried herself with warmth, diligence, and integrity. She was also a pillar within the Guyanese diaspora community, always ready to support and uplift others, living by a simple philosophy: be helpful, be kind, and do what you can for others.
After the passing of her husband Michael in the 1990s, Glennis continued forward with strength and faith. In 2011, she remarried Byron Lynch and migrated to the United States, settling in the Bronx, New York.
While living in the Bronx, she continued her life of service by working at Laconia Nursing Home, where her natural compassion and care for others were evident. She brought comfort not just through her work, but through her presence.
Glennis found immense joy in her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. She expressed her love in thoughtful ways—helping to plan travel arrangements, shopping for her loved ones, especially at BJ’s, and staying closely connected with friends and family.
She believed in laughter, in peace, and in maintaining joy even through life’s challenges. She encouraged others to remain hopeful, to work hard, and to believe that things could always get better. Her gentle faith was reflected in her words and outlook, often referring to “gentle Jesus” as a reminder of kindness and grace.
Her life was a testament to quiet generosity, unwavering faith, and enduring love. The values she lived by—kindness, humility, service, and peace—remain deeply rooted in all who knew her.
Glennis will be deeply missed, but her spirit, her lessons, and her love will live on forever.
